Paddy Power introduces new digital self-exclusion process

Replacing the old method of paper based method of self-exclusions, the new format, which is powered by the shop tablets, serves as a more efficient method in safeguarding vulnerable customers from potentially being exposed to problem gambling. David Newton Managing Director of Retail at Paddy Power commented: “Providing quick support for customers who want to self-exclude is a key element of our responsible gambling agenda. We believe that this new process will make self-exclusion easier and quicker for our customers and hope that other retail betting-operators join us in providing this service.”Having successfully passed a trial period in Paddy Power shops throughout the Kent area, the new innovation produced by the Responsible Gambling Consultancy Ltd and available to all UK operators, will be rolled out in Paddy Power all over the country, with its implementation expected to be complete by June.The new innovation follows on from the UK Gambling Commission outlining that it wants to further safeguard online gambling, furthermore, it’s expected to be followed up by the implementation of an online operator wide self-exclusion scheme, by Gamstop.
